From September 24th until September 27th was held in Stuttgart
(Germany) the DGGT Symposium and Exhibition. Sisgeo was there
with our local distributor GEOMESSTEC.
The German Geotechnical Society (DGGT) was founded as the "German
Society for Ground- and Foundation Engineering" in 1950.
The society is dedicated to science and practice in all questions
relating to soil and rock as a foundation and construction material.
Innovative geotechnical tasks such as the design, resp. sanitation
of sanitary landfills as well as the assessment and sanitation
of waste disposals, geosynthetical engineering and geotechnics
for the maintenance of historical buildings and natural monuments
have been added during the course of recent years.
The DGGT has the following chapters: soil mechanics, soil- and
ground engineering, rock mechanics, engineering geology, geosynthetics
in geotechnics and environmental geotechnics. These chapters presently
comprise forty-five work groups.
