Spa-Franchorchamps’s circuit hosted the fourth race of the International GT Open Championship. The multicolored crowd of GT cars, once again entertained the public along the seven km of the Belgian race track. Sisgeo’s driver Bontempelli and his partner Livio achieved an important third place finish in Race 1, after the good impression given during the qualification session.
Saturday, the third place was gained right behind the F430 Scuderia driven by Cruceiro/Frezza (Kessel Racing), which preceded Dayraut/Makowievky’s Ferrari (2nd). At the very beginning of Race 2, Makowievky with an “unorthodox” move, pushed out Livio to the gravel. Due to this episode, the F430 ended up with zero points.
After the two races in Spa, the overall classification is still positive fot Bontempelli, who is 12 points behind the leader (Dayraut), whereas Gruber/Deverikos are just 5 points ahead of Bontempelli/Livio. The next appointment with the GT Open is on July 21st in Magny-Cours (France), meanwhile Bontempelli will be racing next Sunday for the Italian GT Championship at Mugello.
