A podium, with second place finish behind Couceiro/Frezza and a retire for a broken driveshaft, when Livio was driving, is the balance for Bontempelli’s week-end in France.
The Magny Cours track has once more underlined the competitiveness of the Bontempelli/Livio duo, that in race one have gone up until the second position, managing to do better than many transalpine crews who competed in their home race. In the second stage, which took place on Sunday, things have gone differently.
A technical problem, probably a broken driveshaft, has deprived the couple of Italian pilots of a likely fourth place, still good considering the penalty due to the ranking of race one.
With the success of Dayraut in race two, now the fight for the championship sees the french to move on to 58 points, before Frezza/Couceiro with 56, Gruber/Deverikos 43, Livio/Bontempelli and Ortelli with 40. The next meeting with GT-Open is set by mid-September on the British track of Brands Hatch.
